Corrine Halstead, Owner

Corrine started Level Two Chimney Co. in 2009 after twelve years watching homeowners get handed surprise bills by sweeps who never climbed past the smoke shelf. She’s the one who wrote the Haven Standard, beginning with Clause 1: every customer gets a written price before anyone touches a ladder. Corrine still pulls a shift on the van when someone’s out sick, and she keeps a cracked clay flue tile on her desk from a 2017 job in Marshallton - a reminder of what happens when you skip the camera inspection. She answers the 24-hour line herself some nights, mostly because she doesn’t trust anyone else to explain Class III creosote to a panicked new homeowner.

Mike R., Lead Technician

Mike’s been with us since 2016, which means he’s cleaned or inspected somewhere north of 4,000 chimneys in Chester County alone. He’s NFPA 211 Level 2 certified and specializes in masonry evaluation - he’ll spot spalling brick from the ground before he even opens the damper. Mike lives in East Bradford Township with his wife and two dogs who hate the vacuum truck. His pet peeve is finding a competitor’s “repair” held together with furnace cement and hope; he’s documented seventeen of those for the photo archive, all under Clause 4.

Dana K., Senior Installer

Dana handles our liner pulls and rebuilds, the jobs where you’re working with DuraFlex stainless or HeatShield cerfractory mix in a 120-degree flue on a July afternoon in West Goshen. She came to us from commercial HVAC in 2019 and brought a rigging certification that’s saved us countless hours on steep-pitch jobs around West Chester University. Dana’s the reason we stock Gelco caps in three finishes instead of one - she got tired of telling homeowners in the Historic District that black was their only option. Off the clock, she restores vintage motorcycles and applies the same tolerance-for-no-b.s. to both trades.

James T., Service Coordinator

James answers the phones, schedules the routes, and makes sure the text goes out when Mike or Dana is fifteen minutes from your door - part of the H.A.V.E.N. “Arrive on schedule” promise. He’s been with us since 2021 and knows every permit quirk in West Chester Borough versus the surrounding townships. James grew up in West Whiteland and still can’t believe how many people don’t realize their 1920s colonial has an unlined chimney. He keeps a spreadsheet of seasonal patterns: the October panic calls, the February ice-damage reports, the June raccoon evacuations.

Devon S., Apprentice Technician

Devon joined in 2024 after two years in residential weatherization. He’s working toward his Level 2 certification and currently shadows Mike on every inspection, learning to read a flue camera and distinguish between glaze creosote and ordinary soot. Devon’s from Coatesville originally and has already developed a specialty in prefab fireplace systems, which are more common in the newer developments around Exton than most homeowners realize. He asks more questions than anyone on the crew, which is exactly why Corrine hired him.
